| No Fear. It is important to point out to all the tourists and travelers on the island that Lastovo has no dangerous and poisonous animals. This also includes poisonous spiders, such as the infamous “black widow”, which is so frequently found on rocky shoreline areas. If you do see a snake, do not worry. The only snakes on the island are the non-poisonous “grass snakes” (lat. Natrix natrix, recognized by the white spot on the head). You can therefore walk freely through the beautiful fields or lay in the shade of pine trees. |
