Ancient mariners and merchants who carried goods from south Greek colonies traded with the Illyrians, and when they came to Lastovo, they named the island Ladesta or Ladeston. The Romans called it Ladestris, and the Narentines, who came after the Romans, took the original Roman form Lasta and added the suffix "ovo". This is how Lastovo got its name.

Villa Malo Lago - a stone house In the quiet and sunny bay Malo Lago in the place Pasadur, on the very shore, lies the home of Ljubo Šarić family. It is white stone house, which offers high quality accommodation (3 stars) in the modern European style.

VILLA MALO LAGO has 7 separeted apartments for two persons (there is a possibility to put an extra bed - 2 + 1). The apartment is furnished with all elements for the kitchen, bed linen and towels, TV + SAT.

Each apartment has a balcony with sea view.

  • mooring for a boat and parking place for a car
  • boats for sailing and fishing, bicycles and scooters for sightseeing
  • a tour around the island
  • the diving center, which is located nearby organizes diving schools and takes you on diving excursions.

On the island there are:

  • 8 restaurants (2 of them are nearby)
  • 6 markets (the closest is in Ubli, 3 km from us)
  • one bank, two post offices where you can exchange money
  • ambulance is in the town of Lastovo 13 km from us
  • a petrol station in the port of Ubli

The island of Lastovo is a perfect place for sailing, water-skiing, fishing and spear-fishing (weekly licence for fishing is about 40 EUR and you can get it here).

How to get to Lastovo:

ZAGREB-SPLIT

  • every day you have more than two flights between Zagreb and Split (more information on www.croatia-airlines.hr )How to get to the Villa Malo Lago
  • with railway lines you need 6 hours (more on www.hznet.hr )
  • many bus lines, using new highways you can arrive in 3 hours

ANCONA-SPLIT

SPLIT-LASTOVO (port Ubli)

During the year there are two daily lines

  • catamaran  14:00 departure, 17:00 arrival
  • ferry        15:30 departure, 20:00 arrival

During the summer, at the weekends, in the morning hours, there are extra ship lines from Split to Lastovo. (see www.jadrolinija.hr)
